Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) vice co-chair Aysel Tuğluk’s mother lost her life, and her funeral has been attacked by angry mob shouting slogans against Armenians.
[mks_dropcap style="letter" size="52" bg_color="#ffffff" txt_color="#000000"]A[/mks_dropcap]ngry mob tried to prevent burial of Hatun Tuğluk, mother of HDP's vice co-chair Aysel Tuğluk. Tuğluk arrived at the funeral with a permission from Kandıra Prison where she is jailed. Mob shouted "this is not Armenian land". The body is taken out of where it was buried in the cemetery and will be transferred to another cemetery in the city of Dersim. Hatun Tuğluk's coffin was taken to Pir Sultan Abdal Cemevi to be kept waiting until burial process. Tension continued for a while at Ankara's Gölbaşı cemetery; the coffin had been kept waiting on the road to Incek. HDP issued a press statement titled "Racist Barbarians Appear in Ankara's Incik" regarding the attack against funeral. Ankara governorship defined the attack as 'teasing' announced investigation to start. Vice Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson Bekir Bozdağ commented on the attack and said judicial investigation has started and assailants would pay the price at the court.
