Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun targeted the media groups that receive funding from outside of Turkey to allegedly promote manipulative content against "our President's popular support by the nation. Unfortunately this group is using the media power as a weapon against the state and nation."

Presidential Communications Director Altun has claimed that some media groups operating in Turkey are creating manipulative content. Altun said in a statement, "stop acting as the fifth power in these lands, assume your rule as the fourth power. Stop your hostilities against democracy, instead serve to our democracy" during the Ankara Press Workshop.

"CANNOT BE IGNORED"

Altun said, "no one can ignore our struggle against terrorism. As our President says, we will continue fighting against the puppet-masters instead of the puppets themselves. Our fight is nothing else than the facts. We are fighting against systematic assault."

"MEDIA POWER AS A WEAPON AGAISNT THE STATE AND NATION"

"I do know that the press is on the side of facts. In our media there are those who receive funding from abroad. This includes those who are creating manipulative content against Turkey's development, against the strong stand in the face of injustices of the global order, and against our President's popular support by the nation. Unfortunately we see that this group is using the media power as a weapon against the state and the nation."

"SERVE TO OUR DEMOCRACY"

"I would like to call upon the media; stop serving as the fifth power in these lands, assume your role as the fourth power truly. Stop your hostilities against democracy, instead serve to our democracy."
